How to handle damp fireworks?
Safe air-drying steps for slightly damp fireworks: Applicable when outer packaging is wet, shell is damp, but internal chemicals and fuses are only slightly moist with no soaking marks. Remove outer plastic bags and waterproof packaging; spread out. Separate multi-tube fireworks with gaps; do not stack. Place in a cool, ventilated, shaded outdoor area or balcony away from heat sources for natural air-drying for 2-3 days. Room temperature is sufficient; avoid direct sunlight. Turn fireworks tubes once daily to allow moisture to escape; lay out sparklers and cold fireworks in a single layer without bundling. After drying, check that fuses are dry and firm, and chemical tubes have no damp clumps before testing in compliant areas. Heavily soaked fireworks must be disposed of directly; do not air-dry or ignite. If any of the following occur, chemicals are compromised and irreparable: entire bundles soaked by rain or left on damp ground for long periods; fuses completely wet, soft, faded, with moisture seeping out when squeezed; water sounds heard when shaking tubes, with damp mud or clumped chemicals at tube openings; sparkler powder falling off or forming paste. Water triggers chemical reactions in pyrotechnic compositions, destroying stability. Even if dried, risks include ignition delay, mid-air failure, tube explosions, and erratic jets. Immediate disposal is mandatory.
